Currumbin Valley, and what actually goes wrong here
Currumbin Valley is hinterland. Acreage blocks, long driveways, creek frontage, properties spread far enough apart that your nearest neighbour isn't much help when you're locked out.
That changes the job in three ways.
The security question isn't just the house — it's the gate at the road, the shed, the workshop, the pump house and whatever else is scattered across the block. Ian carries the gear to key all of it, and getting it onto a sensible number of keys is usually the first thing worth doing.
Second, mobile reception is patchy up the valley. If you're ringing about a lockout, get somewhere with signal and stay there if you can.
Third, it's a drive. Ian does come out — plenty do not — but tell him it's the Valley when you ring so he can be straight with you about timing rather than guessing.
0414 841 152Gates, sheds and everything that isn't the house
On an acreage block the house is often the best-secured thing on it, and the shed with all the tools in it has a padlock somebody bought in 2009.
Worth thinking about the road gate, the shed and the workshop as one system rather than three afterthoughts — keyed so you're carrying one or two keys, with hardware that actually stands up to weather and being out in it.
You'll be dealing with Ian, not a call centre
Ian Pearson has been a locksmith on the Gold Coast for more than 30 years. Trade qualified, signed van, and the number on this page rings his phone.
That's worth saying plainly, because a lot of what advertises as a “ Currumbin Valley locksmith” is a dispatch centre somewhere else that sells your job on. That's where the cheap call-out that turns into a four-hundred-dollar invoice comes from — along with a drilled-out lock that never needed drilling.

Questions people in Currumbin Valley ask
How long until Ian gets to Currumbin Valley?
Depends where he is and what time it is. Ring and he'll tell you honestly — he won't promise you a number he can't hit.
Do you actually come out to the Valley?
Yes. Tell Ian where you are when you ring and he'll be straight with you about what's realistic.
Can you key the gate, shed and house together?
Usually, depending on the hardware. It's the job most worth doing on an acreage block.
Do I have to prove the car or house is mine?
Yes, and you should want him to ask. Photo ID and something linking you to the property or the rego. Any locksmith who doesn't ask is one you shouldn't let near your locks.
