Hope Island is largely gated — golf and marina estates with controlled entry, boom gates, fob-operated barriers and common property managed by a body corporate rather than by the residents.
That produces a particular pattern. Almost every access problem here has two possible owners: your own lock, or the estate's system. A fob that won't open the boom is the estate's.
